Some more news has surfaced for Dead or Alive 6 with TGS 2018 happening. Along with yesterday’s reveal of the official worldwide release date some other facts have been let loose.
To start off with, Honoka, Marie Rose and Ayane were featured heavily, showing their official return to the 6th instalment. Adding to this they also revealed that there is also planned DLC characters, that seemingly have been cut specifically to be sold at a later date (or for what you’ll see below too). It isn’t uncommon for fighting games to do this, with as recent as Bandai Namco’s Soul Calibur 6 locking staple character Tira behind their season pass.
The two DLC characters currently revealed are Nyotengu and Phase-4, both previously DLC characters for Dead or Alive 5. They will not be available at launch, however Nyotengu will be able to be obtained through what the industry loves to do nowadays, Pre-order bonuses!
It’s been revealed that you will be able to obtain Nyotengu as a free pre-order bonus if you buy the game physically, along with some other digital goodies, and Phase-4 if you grab the deluxe edition. You can find the details attached:
PlayStation 4 Pre-orders: Comes with a unique Dead or Alive 6 theme as well as “The Female Tengu” Nyotengu as a playable character.
Xbox One Pre-orders: includes Nyotengu as a DLC character as well as a pre-order costume for Ryu Hayabusa.
Digital Bonus: Bonus costume for Kasumi. Those who purchase on Steam by March 14, 2019 will collect the Kasumi costume as well as Nyotengu as a DLC character.
Digital Deluxe Edition: The Digital Deluxe Edition on PS4, Xbox One, and Steam includes a set of 25 extra costumes, 3 bonus musical tracks, a DDX exclusive Kasumi costume, and an additional character, the formidable Kasumi clone, Phase-4.
It’s a shame the game industry goes into these lucrative ways to get you to put your money down for games that haven’t even released yet, but here we are. Aside from these it does seem like Dead or Alive 6 won’t be lacking in characters in the base game, with plenty of characters to choose from to play both offline and online.
