We aren’t done yet when it comes to news of the upcoming upgraded edition of Warriors Orochi 4, this time with a leak coming from the official Japanese Playstation Store. A new character that has yet to be officially announced by KOEI Tecmo has appeared, and goes by the name Yang Jian. You may also know him by the title Emperor Wen of Sui.
This news comes from the official store page for the Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate (Full and Upgrade Pack) Deluxe Edition set, where on the page it details you will get special bonus costumes for the character. We do not know yet what role he will play in the game, but it is still good to know there are more characters than the five previously announced.
As the game gets closer to it’s Japanese launch in December, we are sure to find out more details soon!
Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate and it’s Upgrade Pack will launch in both North America and Europe February 14th 2020 for Playstation 4, XBOX One, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.

KOEI Tecmo had leaked a while ago that Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate would be coming out, and will be launching later this year in Japan. Now we know that the West is also receiving the updated title, and will be arriving February 2020.
The game will be launching on PS4, XB1, Nintendo Switch and Steam. You’ll be able to buy the entire game physically or digitally, though if you already own the base game you can buy a cheaper upgrade bundle much like A.O.T 2 Final Battle.
We will have much more news coming very soon for the title, and we want to make a quick apology of the delayed content. Good stuff is coming so stay tuned!
What are your thoughts on Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate? Are you glad it’s all coming west? Let us know in those comments!
Gaia is the completely new character, and is the girl in the teaser trailer. She will be wielding Hecatoncheires as her weapons, and she uses them to be able to ride into battle. Her attacks are her summoning infinite arms to pummel her enemies.
Joan of Arc is the second character that was confirmed. Though many will know her from Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate, or her debut game of Bladestorm. It is likely she will play and look similar to her Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate character, but more information should be available soon.
This by no means that no other new characters will be coming, just what we have confirmed right now.
Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate will launch in December 2019 for PS4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan, and on PC February 2020, also in Japan. No news on a Western announcement yet, likely to be set for 30th August.
What are your thoughts on the two new additions? Who else would you like to see added to the game? Let us know in those comments!
Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate has been announced for PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. The PS4 and Switch editions of the game will arrive December 2019 for Japan, and the PC version will be February 2020 for Japan. It is quite likely the Western release will launch alongside the PC release. It is also likely that with the inevitable Western release plans the title will also be arriving to XBOX One, which didn’t get a release in Japan.
It has also been noted that the game will be a physical stand-alone title, or you can buy a cheaper upgrade pack similar to how A.O.T 2 Final Battle worked out.
We will have our game page up for the title later this week.
What are your thoughts on Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate being the new title? Are you looking forward to more content? Let us know in those comments!
Earlier today, KOEI Tecmo uploaded a new video with the tag “Wield the Power of the Gods Once More…”, an elude to a new title in the Warriors Orochi franchise. Though little is known aside the teaser trailer (you can watch it below), but what is known an official reveal will be happening on August 30th.
Now this news is set as a new title from Omega Force, so it is unlikely to just be DLC or additional content. Most likely is the expected Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate, or it could be even a spin-off of the spin-off.
Check out the teaser for yourself below:

It isn’t a new concept for KOEI Tecmo to put in a lot of post-release support for their titles nowadays, with fixes, corrections and sometimes even new content. This of course is no different for Warriors Orochi 4 which now hits Version 1.04 (on PS4, varying version number on other platforms), and with it brings a couple new things and some fixes.
You can see what the newest patch adds below:
-Added a feature that allows players to sort the officer list by force.
-Players can now change their team and weapons during online co-op.
-Corrected issues related to online play.
-Corrected issues concerning the actions and animations of some characters.
-Corrected several other issues.
However what may be more interesting is that Warriors Orochi 4 has had prior patches sent out that hit before release, which you can find below:
-Added a feature that enables players to change the BGM from the pre-battle loading screen.
-Added a feature in which, when forming a party, spoken lines are displayed as text.
-Added a feature to Battle Arena mode that enables players to elicit signals by using the directional buttons.
-Corrected issues concerning the actions and animation of some characters.
-Corrected several other issues.
-Improved stability of online play.
-Corrected a number of other issues.
-Improved the stability of online play.
-Added a mock battle function to the Battle Arena mode.
-Corrected issues concerning the actions and rendering of some characters.
-Corrected issues concerning the behaviour of the cursor during some portions of the interface.
-Corrected a number of other issues.
It looks like Warriors Orochi 4 is coming a long way, and hopefully this won’t be the last we see of more additions and general improvements to the game.
Warriors Orochi 4 is out now worldwide for Playstation 4, XBOX One, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.

In the wake of the release of Warriors Orochi 4, the folks over at Miketendo64.com had an interview with the games producer Masaki Furusawa, and some interesting bits of information has come to light. We’ll highlight some here, but for the full interview we’ll have it linked at the bottom.
There was a lot of talk focused on KOEI Tecmo’s Switch version of the game and their support specifically for the console. A question brought up was about the possibility of Nintendo exclusive characters featuring in Warriors Orochi 4 from such titles as Hyrule Warriors and/or Fire Emblem Warriors. Furusawa had this to say:
“Yes, we thought about it. However, as we focused on delving deeply into the DW and SW cast, including an ‘incomplete’ cast of these other games would be disrespectful towards the fans, so we decided not to do so.”
Furusawa-san also went on to discuss possible other franchises they would like to collaborate with to give the ol’ Warriors treatment.
“Again, as a personal opinion, I think that there would be potential for the ‘Ys’ and ‘Xeno’ series to be adapted, because, just as you mentioned, they feature characters having a strong impact, and would therefore, meld well with the Warriors series.”
Naturally the Xeno series would be Nintendo exclusive while Ys has recently been a series published by NIS America.
Lastly we’ll highlight a comment made about future support for Warriors Orochi 4 across all platforms including content updates and DLC. Furusawa-san has some promising information to share:
“As regularly released items, we will mainly provide content that is expected by players. Other than DLC, we plan on continually updating this title in order to allow players to enjoy it as long as possible. As for the release of new content, we plan on maintaining a pace of about one release per month.”
So it is interesting to see what Furusawa-san has to say on these things, and there is much more interesting information in the full interview which you can read here! Warriors Orochi 4 is out now on PS4, XB1, NS and PC via Steam.
What do you hope to see come to Warriors Orochi 4 in future content updates? What series would you love t see receive the Warriors treatment? Let us know in those comments!
