Dynasty Warriors 9 – Xun You, another for the Wei team!

As it looks like Dynasty Warriors 9 is getting closer to finishing development, more and more information and details are being officially revealed. One of these is yet another new character, Xun You of Wei. But who is this fellow? And why is his name shockingly close to the last games added character; Xun Yu? Well lets elaborate on who and what Xun You’s involvement in Dynasty Warriors 9 is!

Xun You, one of many famous advisors for Cao Cao, was known most through the war against the Yuan family and especially the battle of Guandu where he served as Chief Advisor. He is the cousin to Xun Yu (Thus name relation), and became an advisor for Cao Cao by his recommendation. Along with leading many successful tactics against the Yuan family, he also advised alongside Cao Cao to attack and decimate the remainder of Lu Bu’s forces forcing his hand to hold up at Xia Pi Castle. Xun You also was strongly against Cao Cao’s aspiration to become Duke of Wei, and due to this succumbed to illness and died in 214AD.

In Dynasty Warriors 9, Xun You will be a part of Wei’s army post Dong Zhuo uprising. He wields a Steel Whipsword. Being with Cao Cao, he will prove just how easy it is to run rings around the larger Yuan family armies, and secure victory with wits rather than manpower!

Dynasty Warriors 9 – Man Chong joins Wei’s ranks!

Earlier in the month, far more information was dished out for Dynasty Warriors 9! Though we are rather late with bringing this news, we will reveal and go into more detail for the character that has been added; Man Chong of Wei!

Man Chong is a politician under the Wei banner, and known for his courage and prudent behaviour. He was the one to convince Xu Huang to leave his position under the Han banner to serve Cao Cao. He is also the brains behind keeping Cao Ren and the defenses of Fan Castle to hold out enough against Guan Yu’s devastating assault til’ reinforcements arrived and worked with Wu to finally defeat him. Though his most famous feat would be repelling the massive Wu forces at New He Fei Castle by constructing the new castle and destroying Wu’s siege weapons and continual ambushes on their camps.

In Dynasty Warriors 9, he will be serving Cao Cao and Wei from an early era, and will be wielding Shooting Spears. Another strategist added to the ranks of Wei, he will be a great addition to their army and prove how strategy can easily overcome military might!

Ni-Oh: Defiant Honor – DLC Date and Details

Ni-Oh’s second of three DLC’s has been finally officially unveiled. Titled Ni-Oh: Defiant Honor, the new story missions will focus on the Sanada and the infamous Osaka Castle. As Yukimura Sanada still holds the Toyotomi in his heart, he prepared for battle against the mighty Togugawa from his undefeatable ward, the Sanada Maru. William, alongside past DLC comrade Masamune Date, head out to take on the immense force of the Sanada.

Team Ninja promise a bevy of new additions to this DLC also. With a new weapon type, the “Tonfa”, along with new armour, new guardian spirits, new magic items and new Yokai foes to challenge. Along with this there will be new sub-missions and new higher difficulties.

Ni-Oh: Defiant Honor will release for PS4 on 25th July, for £7.99/$9.99 individually or free with the game’s Season Pass.

As a side-note. We hope if things go to plan to be able to do a livestream on the day of release of this DLC, so if you aren’t ready to take the plunge, join us and we shall take on the Sanada together!

Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon coming west this October!

KOEI Tecmo have announced that another gem from Gust is coming Westward this October. Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon will be arriving on Playstation 4, Steam and Nintendo Switch October 24th in USA and October 27th in Europe. With the Playstation 4 and Switch both getting Physical editions.

Hertfordshire, 29th June 2017 – KOEI TECMO Europe today proudly revealed that the standalone sequel to the gothic fairy tale action RPG from developer GUST Studios, Nights of Azure, is headed to western shores as Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon on the 27th October 2017. Nights of Azure 2 marks the publisher’s western debut on Nintendo Switch™, with simultaneous releases planned for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and Windows PC via Steam®.

Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon takes place in a fictional, demon-ridden Western European city towards the end of the 19th century. The story focuses on a knight protector named Alushe and her two childhood friends – Liliana, a kind-hearted priestess, and Ruhenheid, a holy knight of the Lourdes Order. While guarding Liliana, Alushe is ambushed and killed only to later awaken as an artificial half-demon at the hands of the New Curia, a religious organisation with dark ties. In the company of a variety of unlikely allies with their own pasts and agendas, Alushe’s strong desire to save Liliana gives her the strength to scatter the shadows shrouding the world and motivation to uncover the shocking truth behind the mysterious Queen of the Moon.

To introduce some of the colourful characters who comprise the game’s new cast, KOEI TECMO Europe has released a selection of assets featuring Alushe Anatoria, Liliana Selphin and Ruhenheid Ariarod alongside a trailer with a first look at the demon-ridden setting where their narrative unfolds.
