We have been treated to a lot of Gust’s famed Atelier Series JRPGs over the years, and now KOEI Tecmo have confirmed (well earlier in the month, sue us) that the first three HD games will be making their way to both the Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch this September – however only in Japan currently.
This means that New Atelier Rorona, Atelier Totori Plus and Atelier Meruru Plus will be complete on current gen systems (the ones Japan care about anyway), with being able to purchase the games separately or in a single trilogy bundle. The games will include all their “New” and “Plus” content respectively and all prior DLC released will be in as well at no extra cost.
But what does this mean for us Westerners? Going by how successful the Atelier Series is over here, it will likely see the light of day sometime in the new year, especially as we’ve received two Atelier games this year alone (the second arriving this Winter).
You can check out the Japanese trailer below for the trilogy set.
What are your thoughts on these titles coming to Nintendo Switch and PS4? Do you want to see the Dusk trilogy make their way also? Or even get the first two Mysterious titles on Switch? Let us know in those comments!
Yesterday KOEI Tecmo announced that Gust’s newest Atelier JRPG; Nelke & The Legendary Alchemists ~Ateliers of the New World~ will be coming West sometime this Winter 2018. The game will be releasing for the Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
You can find the press release attached below about the game and we will have a game page set up for the title very soon! So stay tuned for more content from us!
KOEI TECMO Europe revealed today that GUST Studio’s latest title, Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists: Ateliers of the New World, will be released throughout the west this Winter. Slated for physical release on the PlayStation®4 Computer Entertainment System and Nintendo Switch™, and digitally on Windows PC via Steam®, this new title set in the Atelier universe celebrates the series’ 20th Anniversary; allowing players to experience the beloved series’ characters with an exciting new town building focus.
Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists: Ateliers of the New World puts players in the shoes of Nelke von Lestamm, a young noblewoman who has always been fascinated by the ancient legend of the Sage of Granzweit; a tale of the Granzweit Tree which is said to bestow great power upon those who discover it. As she grew up and learned her skills were not in alchemy, she studied hard to become a government official and help those around her. The day Nelke is set to graduate the academy, however, her life changes forever as she hears a rumour that the tree can be found within her father’s lands near the small village of Westwald. Her father grants her permission to search for it on one condition – that she becomes governor of the area and develops Westwald into a prosperous city.
As players work hard to build Westwald up from a quaint village to a flourishing city, they will require the aid of the many alchemists that settle in the town. Nelke and the Legendary Alchemists: Ateliers of the New World features famous alchemists from previous entries across the Atelier series, including those from the Salburg, Arland, Dusk, and Mysterious trilogies!

The next instalment to Gust’s Atelier JRPG series is something of quite a delight. Now with the Mysterious trilogy arc over with, Gust intend to take it’s next official title into a slightly different direction.
Named Nercke & the Legendary Alchemists: Atelier of a New Land (that’s a mouthful!), you’ll play as the titular character Nercke, whom isn’t an alchemist like all prior protagonists. Instead this game will feature an “All-star” line-up of characters from numerous previous Atelier titles. The game will also be foregoing it’s usual Alchemy based JRPG shennanigans and including a brand new Town Building sim mechanic.
More information on the title will be shown at the Atelier Special Broadcast hosting on July 10th. The game will be releasing for Playstation 4, Playstation Vita and Nintendo Switch this year in Japan. No news on any form of Western localisation however we bet this will be one for 2019.

Hertfordshire, 29th June 2017 – KOEI TECMO Europe today proudly revealed that the standalone sequel to the gothic fairy tale action RPG from developer GUST Studios, Nights of Azure, is headed to western shores as Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon on the 27th October 2017. Nights of Azure 2 marks the publisher’s western debut on Nintendo Switch™, with simultaneous releases planned for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and Windows PC via Steam®.
Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon takes place in a fictional, demon-ridden Western European city towards the end of the 19th century. The story focuses on a knight protector named Alushe and her two childhood friends – Liliana, a kind-hearted priestess, and Ruhenheid, a holy knight of the Lourdes Order. While guarding Liliana, Alushe is ambushed and killed only to later awaken as an artificial half-demon at the hands of the New Curia, a religious organisation with dark ties. In the company of a variety of unlikely allies with their own pasts and agendas, Alushe’s strong desire to save Liliana gives her the strength to scatter the shadows shrouding the world and motivation to uncover the shocking truth behind the mysterious Queen of the Moon.
To introduce some of the colourful characters who comprise the game’s new cast, KOEI TECMO Europe has released a selection of assets featuring Alushe Anatoria, Liliana Selphin and Ruhenheid Ariarod alongside a trailer with a first look at the demon-ridden setting where their narrative unfolds.

Last week during the “Atelier Series 20th Anniversary Presentation” there was a couple of big announcements! First of all, the next (and probably final) instalment of the Mysterious arc has been unveiled, called Riddii & Suuru no Atelier ~Fushigi no Kaiga no Renkinjutsushi~ (English title: Atelier Liddy & Sule ~The Alchemist of the Mysterious Painting~). This will also mark the return of the dual protagonists to the series. Not much else is known aside from the teaser pic (shown in the announcement picture), which shows silhouettes of the titular characters.
Secondly, and what could be quite interesting (though a whole lot more unlikely to come west) is Atelier Online ~Bureseiru no Renkinjutsushi~, which will be an online MMO game for Android and iOS devices. Developed by both Gust and NHN Play Art. You can check out the reveal trailer below to find out more for the game!
We will be adding pages to both games in the coming weeks with further information as and when revealed. Are you interested in these games? Let us know in the comments!
