Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Scarlet confirmed to not be receiving a western release + more details!

As was probably expected, Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Scarlet has been officially confirmed (by South East Asia distributor Active Boeki) to remain exclusive to Asian territories. Considering the original Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 for PS4 was planned to come out west back in 2016 but KOEI Tecmo backed down soon after a controversy happened over the under-dressed ladies flaunting around on New Zack Island.

However we have some good news with this. Active Boeki have also confirmed that English will be a fully supported language for the game along with Chinese and Japanese. So feel free to import the Switch or PS4 edition without much hassle from the likes of Play-Asia or Amazon.co.jp. Due to the region free nature of both consoles you’ll have no problems at all enjoying them.

Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Scarlet will be releasing on March 20th for Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch, with the Switch receiving a free-to-play version later on in the year. Also keep in mind that the PS4 version will be censored, even though it’s an Asian release only.

KOEI Tecmo to host a 15th Anniversary broadcast for Samurai Warriors, happening next week!

KOEI Tecmo Japan have announced that they will be holding a very special broadcast for the 15th Anniversary for their Samurai Warriors series. The broadcast itself will be happening on February 6th, and will be hosted on both YouTube and Periscope.

Along with the broadcast, you can expect the following to be a part of it:

–Producer Hisashi Koinuma’s live commentary on the Samuari Warriors series’ 15-year journey
–Live gameplay of the series’ successive titles
–15th anniversary collaboration news
–Direct talk with Koinuma! A live presentation corner about desired playable officers
–And more…

Keep in mind that the broadcast will be purely in Japanese, however it is exciting to think what could be in store for event, perhaps even an announcement of the much rumoured Samurai Warriors 5. As of right now we only have Samurai Warriors 4 DX coming out in Japan with no Samurai Warriors news currently for the West.

The broadcast itself will go live 21:00 JST until roughly 23:20 JST. This is 12PM(UTC), 9AM(EST) and 7am(PST).

Snow Villiers joins the fight as Dissidia Final Fantasy NT’s last DLC character!

In a livestream earlier in the week, Square-Enix and Team Ninja announced their last DLC character for Dissidia Final Fantasy NT on PS4 and it’s Arcade incarnation. The new character is Snow Villiers of Final Fantasy XIII fame, though more specifically seems to be his Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII form, as he is also pegged as a villain.

Alongside Snow’s addition, more BGM tracks have been added to the game which will also arrive the same time as Snow.

As for release dates, Snow is out today in the Arcade version of the title and will be releasing sometime during February for PS4. He is the last of the planned DLC characters for the Dissidia Final Fantasy NT season pass, so if you have it be sure to download him when he releases. You can also buy him separately on his own if you so desire.

Square-Enix has also announced it’s future plans for continued support of the game. All summons will be refreshed at the end of February, and in late March a new mystery character will be added to the roster. In the same month 3rd Forms, 5th Weapons and character performance tweaks are planned to go in motion.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is out now exclusively on Playstation 4.

HAMSTER releases Tecmo’s original Bomb Jack in Arcade Archives form on Switch!

It has been quite the ride these past few months with retro KOEI Tecmo titles making their way onto the Nintendo Switch. With a bunch of NES titles hitting the Nintendo Switch Online service, as well as stunningly good arcade ports by HAMSTER – You can check out our review for Arcade Archives: RYGAR here.

HAMSTER now alongside KOEI Tecmo have released the original Arcade version of Bomb Jack. You can read below the official description of the release:

‘BOMB JACK’ is an action game that was released by Tehkan (Koei Tecmo Games) in 1984. Players control ‘Jack’, a superhero who can leap and glide, to collect all bombs in game stages. By retrieving the ignited bombs first, you can earn bonus points and fill up your Power gauge.

The game is out now on Nintendo Switch as part of the Arcade Archives series with a price of £6.29/$7.99 and can expect the usual Arcade Archives treatment (such as different screen types, save states, difficulty changers and more).

Overwatch and Romance of the Three Kingdoms join hands in Blizzard’s upcoming Lunar New Year Event!

In some rather different news, Activision Blizzard’s critically acclaimed Overwatch title is hosting it’s 2019 Lunar New Year Event, and to celebrate the characters of the game are all receiving skins based on Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

For those of you who enjoy the shooter, or are just interested in seeing our favourite Three Kingdom characters getting more representation, then this event is for you!

The Lunar New Year event itself runs from January 24th until February 18th. During this time you will be able to earn these Three Kingdoms based skins (alongside last year event’s skins as well). You can see the currently revealed skins below, and they do look pretty spiffy sporting these looks:

As you can see, there is Hanzo cosplaying as Huang Zhong, Reaper cosplaying Lu Bu, Reinhardt cosplaying Guan Yu and Torbjorn cosplaying Zhang Fei. More skins will be revealed and available throughout the event.
