Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Scarlet is now getting closer to it’s release, with less than a month to go. We now have a new trailer showcasing two more lovely ladies who are on vacation at New Zack Island! Helena and Kokoro are having a great time at the beach in this new trailer.
As was probably expected, Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Scarlet has been officially confirmed (by South East Asia distributor Active Boeki) to remain exclusive to Asian territories. Considering the original Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 for PS4 was planned to come out west back in 2016 but KOEI Tecmo backed down soon after a controversy happened over the under-dressed ladies flaunting around on New Zack Island.
However we have some good news with this. Active Boeki have also confirmed that English will be a fully supported language for the game along with Chinese and Japanese. So feel free to import the Switch or PS4 edition without much hassle from the likes of Play-Asia or Amazon.co.jp. Due to the region free nature of both consoles you’ll have no problems at all enjoying them.
Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Scarlet will be releasing on March 20th for Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch, with the Switch receiving a free-to-play version later on in the year. Also keep in mind that the PS4 version will be censored, even though it’s an Asian release only.
What are your thoughts on Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Scarlet skipping a Western release? Are you glad English will at least be a supported language? Let us know in those comments!
Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Scarlet is a new and improved version of the original game released back in 2016. Last week we announced that Leifang was added as the second new character, and now KOEI Tecmo Japan have released a new trailer for the game showing both her and Misaki – The first announced new character – kicking butt and having fun on New Zack Island.
You can see the trailer below:
Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Scarlet releases March 20th for Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan. With the Switch version getting a free-to-play edition later in the year. Still no news on a western release but the game should hopefully be very import friendly as it’s original was in 2016.
Are you glad to see these two characters in DOAX3? Who else do you want to see added? Let us know in those comments!
Back when Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Scarlet was first announced, KOEI Tecmo Japan teased that there would be two new characters coming to the game, with the first being Misaki from the free-to-play Venus Vacation. Now the second new character is confirmed and is veteran fighter Leifang, getting her tan on at the beaches of New Zack Island.
You can check her out in the trailer below:
Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Scarlet will be releasing March 20th in Japan on Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch. With both systems being region free and – still yet to be fully confirmed – the hopeful English support in the Asian release, you can import your own copy of the game. Though keep in mind the PS4 version will be censored while the Switch version will remain untouched.
Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Scarlet will also be receiving a free-to-play version later in the year for Nintendo Switch.
Are you glad to see Leifang make a return to the series? Will you import the game in March? Let us know in those comments!
It’s only been a couple days since the announcement for Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Scarlet, and we already have ourselves a controversy along with Sony’s new Censorship policies. Though rather ridiculous, certain items (that are still present in the original version on PS4) have been removed only from the PS4 edition of the title – the Nintendo Switch edition isn’t effected.
Three items specifically have been mentioned to of been censored: Jet Black Fan – An item used to “blow” away certain clothes to show undergarments. Gold Fan – A golden version of above. Softening Gel – An item used to increase the jiggle physics velocity, enabling more easy loss of bra straps and such.
Though it may not seem like a big deal, but that is just it – is it that big of a deal that the game has to even remove these? How are we in today’s society so scared of some skin being shown but heavy violence is a-okay? Though that’s a rant for another time.
There has been no official word from Sony themselves on all these recent censorship issues hitting numerous “fan service” based games. There is also no real confirmation if any other items may be removed from the PS4 edition, though this is likely to be the only removals.
What are your thoughts on Sony’s new censorship policies? Are you fine with the removal of these items? Let us know in those comments!
Thanks to the recent Dead or Alive festival we have been given a bevy of news related to the franchise. With Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Scarlet being announced for PS4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan, we now also have news that a free-to-play version of the game will be arriving on the Switch later on after the initial release.
The free-to-play version will play similarly to how Venus Vacation works. Alongside information of a Free-to-play version for Nintendo Switch arriving, there is also news on exclusive features for the Nintendo Switch edition. The main feature focused is “Soft 4D”, which is heavily reliant on the Soft Engine and the Nintendo Switch’s HD rumble functionality. The Switch edition also boasts 900p in TV mode, 720p in handheld and a locked 30 frames-per-second.
As for the Scarlet edition as a whole, it will offer various game tweaks such as being able to level up as an owner far easier, as well as an easier accumulation of the game’s currency Zack Money. Also alongside Misaki being a new character, there is yet another unannounced character that will be coming with the Scarlet edition (NiCO perhaps?). Scarlet will also include full VR support (requiring a “VR Passport”) just as the original game does on PS4.
Team Ninja have also confirmed that both Misaki and the unannounced character will be available as paid DLC for the original version of the game later after release.
Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Scarlet will be releasing March 20th 2019 for PS4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan. As we said before, it is unlikely it will receive a western release due to how the original game was cancelled, but it will be region free on both platforms with (hopefully) the same English support.
What are your thoughts on Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Scarlet going free-to-play as well on Nintendo Switch? Who do you think the unannounced character is? Let us know in those comments!
Dead or Alive Festival has just happened and during it KOEI Tecmo announced a bunch of new things for the Dead or Alive franchise. Included in that was an announcement for an expanded version of Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 for both Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
Dead or Alive Xtreme 3: Scarlet has everything the original Xtreme 3 offered and has so far announced to be including some content that arrived in the Free-to-play edition Dead or Alive Xtreme Venus Vacation, such as the new character Misaki.
The game will be releasing March 20th 2019, though it is very unlikely it will make it’s way to the western market. After the big media drama back in 2016 where KOEI Tecmo ended up pulling the planned release of the PS4 and Vita title, we can’t expect to see it suddenly arrive again now. However a good thing to note is the original PS4 Asian edition has fully supported English language, and if that continues to the Scarlet edition you’ll be able to import it no problem thanks to both PS4 and Switch being region free!
What are your thoughts on a newer version of Dead or Alive’s “sports” title Xtreme 3 coming out? Are you glad to see it come to Switch over Vita? Let us know in those comments!
It was a pretty big year for KOEI Tecmo in 2017, with them pioneering a new form of Virtual Reality technology with their patented VR Sense. However we never really covered it (other than in passing mention that you’ll be able to smell girls sweating in Dead or Alive Xtreme 3.. we don’t get it either). But recently KOEI Tecmo has been bringing out some big guns, with mid way through 2017 bringing the VR use into Dynasty Warriors 8 under the monika Ultra Dynasty Warriors, they have now gotten a fair few exclusives designed specifically for the VR Sense experience.
But what is VR Sense many of you might be wondering? It isn’t something many of us Westerners would be aware of, or even have had the chance to experience. In short it originally was a cabinet where you would stick on a VR set along with a few other peripherals, and it would enable you to feel and smell alongside the usual offerings of VR. It is primarily compatible with the Playstation VR set up and Playstation Move controllers along with it’s own peripherals to enable the “Sense” of smell and feeling.
Now onto the good stuff, the games! Currently KOEI Tecmo boasts six games for the device, being the aforementioned Ultra Dynasty Warriors and Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Sense. Alongside those are Daruma Fell Horror Sense, G1 Jockey Sense, Super Sengoku Coaster and 3 Majesty × XIP DREAM ☆ LIVE. All allowing you to experience many different wonders as if you were actually in the games themselves.
Below you can see four different showcases of four of the games VR Sense offers. Daruma Fell Horror Sense, Dead or Alive Xtreme Sense, G1 Jockey Sense and Super Sengoku Coaster in their respective order.
What are your thoughts on VR Sense? Would you like to see it make it’s way over into the West? Are you interested to see more content based on the device from us? Let us know in those comments!
