During E3 2019 last week, KOEI Tecmo announced which KOF characters would be DLC in Dead or Alive 6. Now the time has come where they are now available to purchase. You can get both Mai and Kula separately or you can get them with their associated costume packs. Of course Season Pass 1 owners will receive both of them and their costume packs for free.

KOEI Tecmo and Team Ninja have announced their first two DLC fighters that are coming to Dead or Alive 6 via it’s Season Pass #1. We knew that Mai Shiranui was going to be one of them but until now we only knew the second was also from the same King of Fighters series.
Now it has been announced that the second fighter is Kula Diamond, and they both will be going on sale next week on June 18th worldwide! If you want to see them both in action check out the reveal trailer below:

Now KOEI Tecmo have confirmed that these same outfits, along with four new ones featured for female officers will be arriving as DLC June 27th across all platforms. This DLC is not part of any Season Pass content so it will be a separate purchase, so no need to worry about double buying the same content.
As there is still no news if Dynasty Warriors 9 will be receiving a Season Pass 4, but it is nice to see some content is still trickling through for the game.

A few days ago it was confirmed that a new character would be revealed during an upcoming Live Broadcast scheduled later on today, however we have gotten new information on the DLC character in question a little earlier than expected.
Zenos yae Galvus of Final Fantasy XIV fame is the new character announced. Originating from the Stormblood expansion pack for the game, he will be a new villain added to the roster. Hopefully more information on him will appear in the Live Broadcast later on today, along with more details on Dissidia Final Fantasy NT’s future content plans.
Zenos will be releasing April 11th worldwide on the Playstation 4 and PC via Steam edition of the games, and will be able to be purchased on it’s own. It will not be included with the current Season Pass which ended with Snow’s recent release.
Below you can check out a reveal trailer for Zenos, showing him off in action:

We’ve known since the last released DLC character that more was planned to come to Dissidia Final Fantasy NT in the future – with the first planned to appear around March. Now Square-Enix have announced a live broadcast for the game which will focus on upcoming new content along with the first of more DLC characters.
The live broadcast will be happening 25th March at 8PM JST (11AM BST, 3AM PDT, 6AM EST). You can watch the broadcast via YouTube or NicoNico, though you’ll also have access to watch it in the video attached below:

Earlier this week Dissidia: Final Fantasy NT finally made it’s way to the Steam storefront, being it’s first time appearing on PC. Along with this release, there was also a Free-to-Play edition launched on the PS4 and Steam. Though the Free-to-Play edition is the only way you can start off with your Steam purchase, you can then purchase two version upgrades through it.
The first is the Standard Edition upgrade, which pretty much gives you full access to the base game, with none of the Season Pass content. While if you pay a little more you can get the Deluxe Edition upgrade, which gives you the base game and all the first Season Pass content. If you decide to stick with the Free-to-Play edition, you’ll have access to most of the basic fighting game modes, along with a rotation of four characters every month.
You can read the full description of the game straight from the Steam storefront here:
With the struggle between order and chaos quelled by saviours from beyond, the realm was destined to fade from existence. Instead, an arcane power has breathed new life into it—bestowing these decaying remains with purpose once more. The fight has begun anew, and the world is your arena.
Over twenty-four of FINAL FANTASY’s most recognisable faces have assembled to take part in interdimensional fisticuffs. Face off against other teams in action-packed, three-on-three melees that require sense as well as strength to win. Each combatant can be one of four types: vanguard, assassin, marksman, or specialist; play off your allies’ fighting styles, master the bravery system, and emerge triumphant from the clash of steel and sorcery!
In addition to standard battles, there will be skirmishes that employ special rulesets, along with cutscenes that tell the story of this reborn world, the gods that rule it, and the warriors who fight for it.
If you have yet to dive into the title, now is the best opportunity, as you can enjoy a lot of it for free on either PS4 or Steam, and if you enjoy it enough you can put in some extra money to get the full experience.
Have you tried the free-to-play version out yet? Have you given the Steam version a go? Let us know in those comments!
The game will be releasing July 5th in the West, while a day earlier in it’s native lands of Japan. The expansion will also be arriving on all the same platforms, being PS4, XB1, Switch and PC.
Along with this, we also have some insight as to what this Expansion will offer. The meat of the content will focus on the third season of the Anime, making the total character tally at over 40, as well as new weapons, new original episodes and more! A new mode has also been confirmed known as Wall Reclamation Mode, which sounds quite like the basics of an Empires game. You form your own non-canon Squad, and go out conquering and defending territories from the Titans.
A few final details, for those who already own the original Attack on Titan 2 game, there will be a downloadable upgrade pack available, that will offer all the additional content “Final Battle” will bring to the table.
Now to leave this post off, have a gander at the new trailer that came with this announcement!

Dead or Alive 6 launched just two days ago, and it has already dived head first in to some incredible controversy. While KOEI Tecmo has yet to dabble in the more nefarious microtransactions or the dreaded lootboxes (we won’t go into that minefield), they have gone deep into mass DLC offerings. Though nothing encapsulates just how bad things are getting than the very first Season Pass for Dead or Alive 6.
The first Season Pass costs £73.99/$92.99, yes almost double the price of the base game itself (even more if you get the game at retail in UK). What do you get for this high price of a Season Pass? Well let’s delve into the details straight from the Steam Page:
DEAD OR ALIVE 6 Season Pass 1.

– Please visit the official website for more details: https://www.gamecity.ne.jp/doa6/
– Downloadable content not included in the list above may be released during the same period, but it will not be covered by this Season Pass 1.
– All content included in this Season Pass will also be sold separately. Please beware of redundant purchases.
– You must purchase the characters before using these costumes.
So two new characters and a bunch of costumes that are purely of cosmetic nature. To top it all off, none of the content (aside the Season Pass bonus) is even ready to release yet. That is one massive down payment for what leads to be such a lack of content. Even one of the fighters (an unannounced KOF collab) isn’t even known yet.
This has been a stark contrast to just how the industry as a whole has changed and how KOEI Tecmo are trying to squeeze every penny they can out of every piece of content – especially when back in the day all of these would of been simply unlockables by playing the game itself.
Let’s look back at Dead or Alive Ultimate on the original XBOX for example. Every character had 20+ costumes you could unlock by completing certain challenges, playing through story modes and other actions within the game. No added costs, no needing a license to unlock more, just gained through playing the game.
It is a shame also this stigma has to come along with Dead or Alive 6, as we shared in our pre-review impressions, the game itself is fun and filled with quite a lot of content on it’s own. Our full review will hopefully be arriving early in the coming week.
