Hertfordshire, 22nd June 2017 – KOEI TECMO Europe today revealed exciting new combat mechanics and exploration features slated to debut with the upcoming instalment in developer Omega Force’s long-running action franchise, DYNASTY WARRIORS 9. An impressive new trailer released alongside today’s announcement provides a closer look at the beautifully rendered environments and dynamic combat systems that players can look forward to.
DYNASTY WARRIORS 9 introduces exhilarating new combat mechanics to the series’ signature “one versus thousands” style gameplay with the State Combo System. This new system allows players to perform 3 different attack styles – Trigger Attacks, Flow Attacks and Finish Attacks – each dealing progressively more damage. Trigger Attacks allow players to create the start of an explosive combo, leading to Flow Attacks, which adapt to the enemy’s current state. Successful combos allow for a Finish Attack to be performed, delivering a final blow that eradicates any foes caught in its path. These new enhancements aim to create a thrilling and fluid experience unlike any previous entry in the franchise.
Augmenting the series’ first true open world is another immersive innovation introduced in DYNASTY WARRIORS 9: the Interactive Action system. Players will be able to fully utilise their surroundings for the first time in the Warriors franchise with the ability to climb buildings and mountains, wield grappling hooks to traverse walls, and make use of objects like oil barrels in battle. These new actions offer a breadth of new possibilities for players to take advantage of while travelling around third-century China, or when caught in the heat of battle!
Unifying the classic, time-tested action iconic to the Warriors series with a variety of new features, characters, and content in an expansive open world environment, DYNASTY WARRIORS 9 aims to deliver the most immersive and ambitious DYNASTY WARRIORS experience to date. Platforms, release timing, and more information on the game’s new features, characters, and narrative will be unveiled in the coming months.

As most of you should know, this week is E3 week, and Nintendo has definitely not been shy with showing what cards they have concealed. During their annual Treehouse Live segments, they showed off a new Trailer and did a Live presentation for Fire Emblem Warriors on the Nintendo Switch. They have yet to show any footage for the New 3DS version of the game, but there are still some days left for them to do so!
The game itself is looking great, showing the brisk art style known from the Fire Emblem series, with hectic hack ‘n’ slash at it’s core. With new key features shown such as being able to give commands to fellow officers, switching between officers mid-battle, the weapon triangle system (sword-axe-lance) famous in the Fire Emblem series are just some of many awesome mechanics to the game.
Alongside a beefy story mode, there will also be a side-mode, Colosseum mode, which is more like a boss rush style mode where you face off against certain enemy officers and their peons. Progressing through each officer to the next to reach your goal. You will see this in the Live Presentation attached below.
There are also a ton of new characters shown off, including those from recent Fire Emblem games as well! Be sure to check out both the trailer and the live presentation below to fully get in the know! Any Fire Emblem fan or Warriors fan won’t regret it!
The release date is still scheduled for Fall 2017, but hopefully as we are getting closer we will get a release date and much more information soon! Let us know in the comments what you think!

Hey everyone! We have some big news! On 31st May 2017 it will be our 10th Anniversary. Yes 10 years since KOEI Warriors: Conquerors was first born! We initially started out as a sister forum to the main KOEI Warriors forum, where we focused on hosting “Conquer” based roleplay games. Over time, and a brief period of going on hiatus, we are now the behemoth of social media and this site!
So to celebrate, we have a lot of things in store for you guys! To start off with, on the 30th May, we will be (finally) releasing our own forum. Revitalised from its long departure. It merely is just for discussion, hanging out and ways for us to communicate with all you great people more directly, but if we grow and end up with more support we would love to further produce forum games like we use to in the old days!
Now onto the day itself. On 31st May 2017, in collaboration with KOEI Tecmo Europe, we will be hosting a livestream for Samurai Warriors: Spirit of Sanada on our official Twitch channel here at 8PM BST. We have a giveaway planned for the game as well on both PS4 and Steam, so be sure to come and join us! The giveaway will be for digital versions, so it will work out wherever you live!
We will also be doing another giveaway for Samurai Warriors: Spirit of Sanada directly on our facebook page here, which will also be for both PS4 and Steam – in collaboration with KOEI Tecmo Europe.
We are super excited about all of this. To even further celebrate, we now also have our own Domain URL for the site! https://atomic-temporary-62065611.wpcomstaging.com/ – This will be the direct link now to our website, and along with this we no longer have WordPress forced advertising, meaning the website will be a far cleaner and slicker looking place. We really hope you are as excited as us when it comes to this monumental event, and we are so glad that because of all of you we were able to even make it this long! Your support and love is what drives us forward!
Thank you all so much, and we look forward to seeing you on our forum and at our Livestream this Wednesday (31st)!!

Hey everyone! A quick note before we start this segments info batch. We want to apologise for how late we are with continuing with this, and from now on things should be speedier with us getting the information out there. Now without further ado, here it is.
In today’s segment, we will be looking at one of the biggest new things to come to the Dynasty Warriors series; the open world of China! With how big China is, and how seamless KOEI Tecmo / Omega Force want the game to be between exploration and the battles, this is definitely an ambitious feature for them to have. There are quite a few reasons behind why Omega Force chose to go this route, but mainly it was due to wanting to get out of the same rut the Warriors franchise seems to be stuck in, and to challenge themselves with a completely new way of programming and creating their projects. There is also a heavy amount of reference taken from Toukiden 2’s style of Open World. So if you have played that game, you may have a small idea of how things could work out.
All of China will be recreated in this game, with focus on the liveable and more Three Kingdoms war centric. Of course it won’t be a 1:1 scale, that would be ridiculous for a game with current technology available, however to give a gist of how big the world in Dynasty Warriors 9 will be, Luoyang will be roughly 1 kilometre squared in size, and it will also take you roughly five minutes to swim across the famous rivers (Such as The Yellow River) scattered around China. You can improve crossing the land of China quicker, with horses, carts and boats. To keep immersion of you actually in China, there will also be a Time based and Weather based settings that’ll change during your time in China.
Omega Force have confirmed there will be 10 unique cities (such as Luoyang mentioned before), along with several other villages, towns, camps and such you can explore throughout your travels of China. You will use these cities as your hub for shopping, getting new equipment, side missions (we will talk more in a future segment) and much more. You will also be able to enter cities while major battles are progressing, just to continue to show how seamless Omega Force wants the game to feel and be.
To add on how you can travel around the world of China. The main method will of course be riding on a horse. However, for those impatient nellies out there, you will be able to use a Fast Travel mechanic that will automatically warp you to certain places. How this will work is still yet to be revealed, but chances are it will be very similar to current open world games we see. Swimming comes back from Dynasty Warriors 6, where you’ll be able to swim any forms of water, including the several major rivers in China. There are also other methods of traversing, such as the new unique Grapple Hook, that’ll allow you to scale cliff sides, walls and other obstacles in your path. With all this there will be a LOT of variation on what you can do and how you can traverse the open world of China!
That’s it for this one. We hope this gives you a far better idea of what to expect with the Open World side of the game, and we will be back with more news and information in our next segment soon!
