Dynasty Warriors 9 finally adds 2 player co-op, available to play now!

We announced earlier in the month that a big October update was coming to KOEI Tecmo’s Dynasty Warriors 9, which was to include 2 player co-op in both offline and online forms. So you can roam China with a friend, and beat up some peons in the process of conquering China.

Well now the update has gone live, so everyone who owns Dynasty Warriors 9 (on PS4/PC) can play in this 2 Player co-op mode (Though no cross-platform play, as expected). XBOX One owners of the game, don’t fret the update for you guys will be arriving shortly – it takes longer due to the XB1 version of the game being exclusive to the Western market.

Along with this 2 Player mode being added, some more quality of life editions have been included, such as more music from prior Dynasty Warriors titles, new bows and wallpapers for you to have a gander at. We’ll likely do a preview of sorts on the multiplayer aspect on the game in the coming days to let you guys know for sure if it’s worth dipping into the game again (or for the first time) now that you have a friend with you.

Atelier Online: Alchemists of Braceir is now live in Japan!

We announced a while back that there was a new form of Atelier game coming to iOS and Android devices, known as Atelier Online at the time. It has gone live this month and is now available to play in Japan via the Apple Store or Google Play store. You can read below what the game itself offers:

Popular Characters from the Series Appear

There is no word if this free-to-play game will be receiving an official release in English, but still feel free to give it a go and check it out!

Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends Complete Edition DX announced for Switch in Japan!

KOEI Tecmo have since confirmed the game will be arriving in both EU and NA on the same date as Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends Definitive Edition, but digital only.

With how successful the Nintendo Switch has been, and the amount of support KOEI Tecmo has been throwing it’s way (at least in Japan), it comes as no surprise that now another one of KOEI Tecmo’s older titles has been announced for Nintendo’s hybrid console. Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends Complete Edition DX (wow that’s a mouthful) will be arriving on the Nintendo Switch December 27th in Japan.

The game which will feature the usual Switch additions such as single joycon two player and the like will also include all released DLC for both Dynasty Warriors 8 and Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends. This will be an even more complete edition than the current “complete” edition is.

However don’t get your hopes up for seeing this title come out in the West. We didn’t receive any western releases for their triple Warriors titles they released last year – Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires, Samurai Warriors: Spirit of Sanada and Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate – and this will likely be of the same tale. Thankfully the console is region free so you are able to import it and play without issue.

If you have the three mentioned titles already along with Warriors Orochi 4 (JP version), you can use their save data to gain bonuses within Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends Complete Edition DX, though what these bonuses will be is still yet to be revealed.

An interesting interview from Miketendo64.com with Producer Masaki Furusawa!

In the wake of the release of Warriors Orochi 4, the folks over at Miketendo64.com had an interview with the games producer Masaki Furusawa, and some interesting bits of information has come to light. We’ll highlight some here, but for the full interview we’ll have it linked at the bottom.

There was a lot of talk focused on KOEI Tecmo’s Switch version of the game and their support specifically for the console. A question brought up was about the possibility of Nintendo exclusive characters featuring in Warriors Orochi 4 from such titles as Hyrule Warriors and/or Fire Emblem Warriors. Furusawa had this to say:

“Yes, we thought about it. However, as we focused on delving deeply into the DW and SW cast, including an ‘incomplete’ cast of these other games would be disrespectful towards the fans, so we decided not to do so.”

Furusawa-san also went on to discuss possible other franchises they would like to collaborate with to give the ol’ Warriors treatment.

“Again, as a personal opinion, I think that there would be potential for the ‘Ys’ and ‘Xeno’ series to be adapted, because, just as you mentioned, they feature characters having a strong impact, and would therefore, meld well with the Warriors series.”

Naturally the Xeno series would be Nintendo exclusive while Ys has recently been a series published by NIS America.

Lastly we’ll highlight a comment made about future support for Warriors Orochi 4 across all platforms including content updates and DLC. Furusawa-san has some promising information to share:

“As regularly released items, we will mainly provide content that is expected by players. Other than DLC, we plan on continually updating this title in order to allow players to enjoy it as long as possible. As for the release of new content, we plan on maintaining a pace of about one release per month.”

So it is interesting to see what Furusawa-san has to say on these things, and there is much more interesting information in the full interview which you can read here! Warriors Orochi 4 is out now on PS4, XB1, NS and PC via Steam.

Warriors Orochi 4 is now out worldwide!

Warriors Orochi 4 is now out worldwide for Playstaton 4, XBOX One, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam!

Fight alone or together in both local and online multiplayer to fight against the almighty Greek God’s. Featuring 170 playable characters, all with unique actions and play styles. Choose up to three warriors to take to the field and seamlessly switch between them on the fly to spice up your fights!

We enjoyed the game a lot in our review, so be sure to give it a read if you are still unsure if you want to pick up the game or not. Also below you can find the Launch trailer for the game.
