HAMSTER releases KOEI Tecmo’s Solomon’s Key as part of it’s Arcade Archives series, out now on Switch!

KOEI Tecmo and HAMSTER have been cooperating for a while now in bringing their old Arcade titles to the Nintendo Switch, and now we have yet another new title added to the ever growing library. The title in question is Solomon’s Key, which is a puzzle based escape room type game. It is one of Tecmo’s early Arcade hits that also got ports to several home consoles during it’s hay day.

Now our keen eyed viewers may of remembered that Solomon’s Key has already been released on the Nintendo Switch via it’s Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Switch Online program. Though this is true, and the games are practically the same content wise – unlike the Ninja Gaiden NES game and Ninja Gaiden Arcade game – Solomon’s Key in it’s arcade form boasts better graphics, better responsive controls, superior audio and of course the benefits the Arcade Archive’s series brings to the table.

It is also worth mentioning that if you do not have a Nintendo Switch Online subscription, this is the only way to own the title on your Nintendo Switch system.

What to expect from KOEI Tecmo at E3 2019! + Our wishes!

Unless you have been living under a rock the past few decades, you’d know that it is E3 next week (June 11-13), the biggest gaming expo around the world. With an event of this size it is no wonder that KOEI Tecmo will be showing off titles. However with Sony dropping out from this years event what would KOEI Tecmo be able to show?

This year is going to be all Nintendo from the looks of things, as they are a big player on the E3 playing field. The three major titles that KOEI Tecmo are involved in will be Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order, Dragon Quest Builders 2 and Fire Emblem: Three Houses. If Dragon Quest Builders 2 doesn’t get featured on Nintendo’s Treehouse livestreams, it will more than likely appear during Square-Enix’s conference – showing both the PS4 and Nintendo Switch versions.

We hope to see some decent play time with Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 as well as any more information we can scrape from Fire Emblem Three Houses, which looks to bring great strategical action to the table.

With Sony not turning up, we can safely say there will be no information regarding the upcoming Ni-Oh 2, which recently got a closed alpha test. There is a slight chance A.O.T 2: Final Battle will show up, but that will simply depend if the Nintendo Treehouse team decide to play it.

As for new titles or reveals? We do hope to hear something new from KOEI Tecmo, and the most likely reveal would be a new collaboration with Nintendo, perhaps even a sequel to Hyrule Warriors or another Warriors mix with a Nintendo IP.

Either way, there will be three titles definitely shown for us all to look forward to seeing, with new details and full gameplay. The three games in question release throughout July 2019.

Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Scarlet “Basic Edition” is out now on the Japanese Switch eShop!

We announced late last year that Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Scarlet will be getting a free to play edition on the Nintendo Switch. Now that time has come where you can enjoy the volleyball shenanigans with the girls for free!

Arriving last week on the Japanese eShop, you can now download the “Basic Edition” of the game, which gives you full reign of the 14 day holiday, but only with Kasumi. You can purchase more characters through the eShop much like the Dead or Alive Core Fighters free to play series allows.

Don’t have a Japanese Switch? Then fret not because you can access it in English on whatever region your Nintendo Switch is from. All you have to do is make sure you have a separate Nintendo profile set up and attach a My Nintendo account with the location of Japan. Then when you boot the eShop up with this profile you’ll be brought into the Japanese eShop. When there you can download the DOAX3 Scarlet Basic Edition. Once it is all downloaded you can boot the game up with your regular profile and it will auto launch with English translation (still voiced in Japanese).

So if you have been curious by the still blocked Western release of Dead or Alive Xtreme 3, you can now jump in and give it a go!

Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Scarlet is out now on PS4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan. Only the Nintendo Switch has the Basic Edition, and is also uncensored compared to the PS4 version. The title will take up 4.4GB of your SD card.

Atelier Ryza ~The Queen of Eternal Darkness and the Secret Hideout~ announced, heading to Japan this Fall!

A couple days ago Atelier Ryza was announced via the Dangeki Playstation Magazine, the latest instalment to the ever growing Atelier Series from Gust. It was initially announced for Playstation 4 (as coming from a Playstation magazine), but now we have a more formal announcement of the game from Famitsu.

Atelier Ryza is a new coming of age story that focuses on a new world construction method through expression. The title is being written by Gust and Shakugan no Shana manga creator Yashichiro Takahashi.

Ryzalin Staud (the titular character) is a free willing girl who is always looking for excitement with her friends. She has a very strong sense of justice to the point arrogance if she thinks she is in the right. The story is about her finding something dear that she never knew was until she became an Alchemist and met a “certain someone”.

The game will also be launching on PS4 and Nintendo Switch this Fall in Japan, with a PC release to follow soon after. We will likely hear later in the year about it’s Western release, which will likely be early 2020.

Dynasty Warriors 9’s “Suzuka 8” costumes are coming to the game next month!

It was only a couple of months ago that we reported Dynasty Warriors 9 had collaborated with Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance race over in Japan, bringing Dynasty Warriors themed outfits and bike liveries to the race.

Now KOEI Tecmo have confirmed that these same outfits, along with four new ones featured for female officers will be arriving as DLC June 27th across all platforms. This DLC is not part of any Season Pass content so it will be a separate purchase, so no need to worry about double buying the same content.

As there is still no news if Dynasty Warriors 9 will be receiving a Season Pass 4, but it is nice to see some content is still trickling through for the game.

Dynasty Warriors 9 is out now worldwide for Playstation 4, XBOX One and PC via Steam.
