As we are getting ever closer to the release of KOEI Tecmo’s upcoming Warriors Orochi 4, we now finally know the entire character roster including five new characters. The last two to be revealed were Ares and Odin (pictured above).
The God of War Ares has finally arrived, and wields twin spears unleashing ferocious power that is unmatched by any other. We also see the arrival of the All-Father Odin, wielding his Gungnir – a piercing spear that’s able to summon more blades to add that extra kick.
These two now added to the list, which include Zeus, Perseus and Athena now make it a total of five Gods on the field of battle, reuniting both legendary Chinese and Japanese warriors once again. You can find both of their character trailers attached below.
Warriors Orochi 4 releases on October 16th (US) and October 19th (EU) for PS4, XB1, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.

Today is the launch of the third character for Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, Team Ninja and Square-Enix’s 3v3 brawler, featuring many classic characters across several different Final Fantasy titles.
Rinoa Heartilly from Final Fantasy VIII is the latest to make her sorcery known on the field of battle. Her fighting tactics focus more on ranged combat over being up close and personal, she delivers many painful spell attacks towards those she faces off against. Among these numerous spells also include her “Angel Wing” spell.
Also in addition to Rinoa herself, her pet dog Angelo will be right there by her side helping her out on the field.
Rinoa Heartilly is the third of six total DLC characters to make their way to Dissidia Final Fantasy NT. With Locke (of FFVI fame) and Vayne (of FFXII fame) preceding her. You can get her for free included with the Season Pass or purchase her separately on the Playstation Store.
Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is out now exclusively for the Playstation 4, and you can see Rinoa Heartilly in action below!

Even more news coming in for KOEI Tecmo and Omega Force’s upcoming game Warriors Orochi 4, this time the third (of five) new character has been announced, and it’s Perseus! He joins the Goddess Athena and Lightning God Zeus. With his announcement comes some nice gameplay footage of him in action which you’ll be able to see attached below.
Perseus is the son of Zeus, and known as a monster slayer including beheading the Gorgon Medusa. In the gameplay trailer he is shown fighting alongside his half-sister Athena. Along with Perseus’ reveal, they showed off Guan Yinping’s Deification form, which you can see just below. She looks pretty good and the game is looking to be really fun.

KOEI Tecmo Japan have revealed that for those of you who purchase Warriors Orochi 4, you’ll be able to import old save data to grant you some early bonuses within the game. Much like how many of other KOEI Tecmo games work, if you have the previous entry of the series or a similar enough game to the series’ save data, it’ll grant you a small bonus in the game.
For Warriors Orochi 4 however, there will be two separate types of bonuses. One for owning a copy of Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate, and another for owning a copy of Dynasty Warriors 9. Note: This is confirmed for the Japanese versions of the game, thus no mention of the XBOX One version which is exclusive to the West, and will likely apply the same bonuses.
For those of you who own a previous iteration of Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate (you can find the table just below), you will be granted Stock EXP as a bonus. The amount you get is based on how many kills you have total on your save data (with a maximum of 100,000). The following save data is compatible:
Next is for those who have Dynasty Warriors 9 save data. By importing your save data from said game, you will unlock a bevy of Dynasty Warriors 9 costumes for your characters (those featured in our header image). Specifically costumes for Zhenji, Daqiao, Yueying, Wang Yuanji and Diaochan. The following save data is compatible:
We assume that the XBOX One version of the game will have the same bonuses for both Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate and Dynasty Warriors 9. However we have no word if the Dynasty Warriors 9 bonuses are straight cut from the Nintendo Switch version (or any bonus for Switch in the West) or if there will be Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate bonuses for the Steam version.
Warriors Orochi 4 releases to the Americas on October 16th and October 19th for Europe. It’ll be coming to PS4, XBOX One, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
But let us know what you think of this. Are you happy to see this Import Save Data bonuses continue to be a trend with Omega Force and KOEI Tecmo? Let us know in the comments!
It’s been a hot minute since we made a new article about KOEI Tecmo’s Warriors Orochi 4, arriving this October on Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PC via Steam. Though we finally have some juicy information about the game that isn’t just revealing a new character (which there are five in total for the game).
Over the weekend, KOEI Tecmo showed off Warriors Orochi 4 at ACGHK 2018, with producer Masaki Furusawa sharing more information on what the game will offer, and delve deeper into what Sacred Treasures are. Also at the event they showed off some Athena gameplay, where she wields her Sword and Shield (Aegis) to devastating results. You can find the full video of all this attached at the bottom.
However onto the cool bits of information Furusawa graced us with. Warriors Orochi 4 will bring us a far more supernatural experience into the story along with how the Sacred Treasures and Greek Gods will offer. This entry will also feature 170 playable characters (five of which are completely new, and 29 that have never been in the Orochi sub-series before). Along with these two bits, something a bit more interesting now is Furusawa goes on to explain that there will be more online functionality other than just your usual expected online story co-op – including modes never before seen in a Warriors title. He then goes on to elaborate about a 3v3 online mode that’ll allow up to six players to enjoy the game at once.
To end it off, he reconfirms that online and offline splitscreen co-op will be making it’s return.
Some more information has also been shown about the Sacred Treasures, which enable Divine Arts (Skills) allowing your character to perform an assortment of moves, including drawing in enemies, shooting them from afar or an area of effect attack. Divine Arts can be charged up to increase it’s output. It also was confirmed that Mounts are implemented as a Divine Art, which you can use to summon a Horse to your side. You can also after racking up enough combos perform a Combination Divine Art, which essentially gives you a major buff in damage and speed, however if you aren’t able to keep up the combo the buff will wane.
At the end of it all, Furusawa states that game is nearing it’s release (October 16th/19th for us Westerners), and that the game is in it’s final stages of development. He really hopes you will enjoy the game and that the 5 year wait will of been worth it.
Below you can find the full broadcast of the event – for those interested around 19:40 time stamp is when the Athena gameplay starts.
