Early feature details for Warriors Orochi 4; What to expect!

Posted by Shaun Player on May 15, 2018

As we said in our last post, we have a line up of articles to cover many of the new things and information about the upcoming Warriors Orochi 4. This time we will be covering some of the early details revealed for the game, including new ways of gameplay and more.

So what do we have to look forward to with Warriors Orochi 4? Well first of all don’t worry, the game will be returning to it’s core mechanics of what makes a Warriors game, your traditional combination based attacks in stage based battles. No “ambitious” open world stuff going on here, just what you would want to expect from a sequel to Warriors Orochi series. Along with the usual actions, there is a new system called Divine Art Action that adds Divine Arts and Deification to the table.

Divine Arts are a new skill you can perform by equipping certain Sacred Treasures you obtain within the game, allowing you to take out your enemies in much more devastating ways. While the Deification side of things, seems to be quite interesting. This is a new mode for the game where you will progress through a story and by progressing you’ll unlock key characters for use and depending on certain conditions within the battle stages will power up their looks and abilities.

Away from the additions to gameplay functions, as we said in our last post there will be a total of 170 playable characters. This includes 5 new exclusive characters based around Zeus and his subordinates. With Zeus being the main antagonist of the game, that may be leaving you to wonder what of the titular character of the game Orochi? The series is named after him afterall. Well all we know so far is that him and “True Orochi” still exist within the game, and will play a vital role in the story. Hopefully we will have more details to share soon on this!

A few quick interesting facts before we sign off on this post. The game’s story and setting is being supervised by Yoshitaka Murayama, who you may know as the creator of a little known RPG series; Suikoden. Free Mode will be returning as expected as well as the three person team setup remaining. Collaboration characters (such as Ryu Hayabusa, Sophitia, Kasumi etc) will not be in the game, only those from Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires, Samurai Warriors 4 II and original Warriors Orochi characters will be there, plus the new 5 exclusives yet to be fully revealed.

So there we have it, an information dump for Warriors Orochi 4. The game is expected to release Q3 2018 worldwide on Playstation 4, XBOX One, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. We will have more posts incoming soon, along with further updates to our game page! Let us know your thoughts on the game so far in the comments!

Warriors Orochi 4 comes West this Fall on a miriad of platforms!

It has been a very interesting past week with KOEI Tecmo, with them finally releasing information about the anticipated Warriors Orochi 4 title. While there is a TON of information, we will be splitting it into several posts instead of just one big one. With that, enjoy our first part on Warriors Orochi 4!

Warriors Orochi 4 will be releasing worldwide this Autumn on Playstation 4, XBOX One, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. The game will feature 170 playable characters including those from Dynasty Warriors 8 (up to 8 Empires) and Samurai Warriors 4 (up to 4 II). It will be a traditional Warriors game, and not follow in the footsteps of Dynasty Warriors 9 of going for an Open World route. As well as this the game will also bring back two player co-op both offline and online (this will include single joycon play for Switch users).

Aside from all that, the game will be focusing on Greek Mythology with the main villain of the game being none other than the King of Gods himself, Zeus. We will go into much further detail in a follow up post soon along with much more other information about the title and it’s release.

What are your thoughts on the announcement of the game? Which platform do you plan to get it on? Let us know in the comments!

Dynasty Warriors 9 Additional Weapons Pack DLC contents revealed!

Posted by Shaun Player on May 2, 2018
Posted in: All, Articles, News & Announcements. Tagged: dlc, Dynasty Warriors, Dynasty Warriors 9, KOEI, KOEI Tecmo, Omega Force, PC, PS4, Shinsangokumusou8, Steam, Tecmo, XB1. Leave a comment

This past week, KOEI Tecmo Japan have revealed the contents of their second DLC pack for Dynasty Warriors 9; the Additional Weapons Pack. The pack will come with three new weapons (pictured above) and a new high level weapon variation for each weapon type.

The three weapons in question are Wang Yi’s Emei Piercers, Xu Shu’s Sword & Hook and Zhang He’s Claws. These will come accompanied with their own unique moveset and trigger moves.

It wasn’t too long before the release of Dynasty Warriors 9 that the weapons became a controversial subject with KOEI Tecmo claiming many weapons were not featured due to them not being “realistic”, yet here we are now seeing some of them added in as paid DLC. Whatever the mindset behind it, it is good that we are getting more variation to kill the numerous enemies that plague China in Dynasty Warriors 9!

The DLC Pack will release sometime this month, and will be free to those who have purchased the Season Pass, or you will be able to purchase the pack on it’s own on release.

What are your thoughts on this DLC? Are you glad these are the weapons being added? What other weapons would you like to see added? Let us know in the comments!

Season Pass holders can download this pack now for free, or you can buy the pack individually for £6.49/‎€7.99/$7.99 on the Playstation Store, Xbox Store or Steam.

Check the list attached below for more details on exactly what the DLC pack has to offer:

Hideaway Customisation Pack

-Camp-Style Hideaway – An exterior model that captures the essence of a battlefield camp.

-On-the-Water Hideaway – An exterior model of a Hideaway built on the water.
-High-Rise-Style Hideaway – An exterior model of a high-rise Hideaway that is tall like a tower.

  • Added Furniture Models
  • -New Functional Table and Chairs – A table with chairs on which you can sit and meet with visiting officers.
-Candlestick – A light fixture that can be placed on a table.
-Blacksmith’s Shelf – Allows you to craft gems and accessories at a Hideaway.
-Cook’s Shelf – Allows you to cook new dishes at a Hideaway.
-Fish Preserve – Allows you to regularly obtain fish-type materials.

-Stable – A place where you can keep a horse. Horses kept at a stable will develop with time.
-Prayer Bench – For a short time, the weather will be changed arbitrarily.

Naturally, Japan also received a bit of an extra bonus DLC along with all of this, being an exclusive new outfit for Da Qiao based on Ai-chan, the popular mascot of SIE Taiwan. Initially it was exclusive to the Taiwan release only, but now Japanese players can download this costume for free if they hold the Season Pass. For us Westerners, it is unlikely to see this happen, or perhaps it’ll come out far later as a Paid option.

The next DLC Pack; the Additional Weapons pack is scheduled to release sometime in May.

What are your thoughts on the DLC Pack? Will you be downloading it? Let us know in the comments!

As you are all surely aware by now, Dynasty Warriors 9 released with a miriad of problems and issues, and Omega Force has been releasing incremental patch updates to fix up and better improve the game across all three platforms. A new patch, and some new additions for a specific platform have now come out! So here is our rundown, starting off with a new (smaller) patch to fix some specific issues the games have had.

    Dynasty Warriors 9 PS4 Patch v1.07

    Corrected the following issues:
-The Chapter 11 Mission “Deliver the Fake Note” could not be completed.
-Starting Free Mode without having played the Story Mode would cause the default weapons of officers to disappear.
-The screen would become dark when viewing events and movies from the Gallery.
-The player would become buried in the ground after completing the Chapter 7 Mission “Liu Bei’s Escape”.

Corrected a number of other minor issues.

Dynasty Warriors 9 Steam Patch v1.05

    Corrected the following issues:
-The Chapter 11 Mission “Deliver the Fake Note” could not be completed.
-Starting Free Mode without having played the Story Mode would cause the default weapons of officers to disappear.
-The screen would become dark when viewing events and movies from the Gallery.
-The player would become buried in the ground after completing the Chapter 7 Mission “Liu Bei’s Escape”.

Added UI Language support for Japanese, Chinese (Traditional), Chinese (Simplified).
Added voice language support for Chinese (Simplified).

Corrected a number of other minor issues.

    Dynasty Warriors 9 XB1 Patch v1.06

    Added the feature “Photo Mode”.
Added gems that grant new effects.
Improved the movement of officers during battle.
Adjusted the frequency in which dialogue occurs during battle.

    Corrected the following issues:
-During Chapter 6 Mission “Showdown at Chibi”, the game would sometimes stop when approaching a Prayer Bench while mounted.
-Attacks would sometimes not hit soldiers.
-Archers would not vanish after capturing a base.
-Soldiers would continue flinching in fear for a long time.

Added an option to adjust the “Screen Size” in the Options menu.
Corrected a number of other minor issues.

That was a lot of a mouthful. But the key points for those who don’t want to delve into the full notes is that some rare game breaking moments have been fixed. The Steam version of the game now has the option for Chinese (Simplified) audio, and the XB1 version is now caught up to the last set of patches.

Another addition that may have slipped under the radar for some, and many might not even care is that now the Steam version of Dynasty Warriors 9 allows you to acquire Trading Cards.

That’s everything for now, and we hope more updates (be it new content or fixes) will continue to roll in on all platforms, and hope that we will soon hear of the first DLC Pack’s release.

What are your thoughts on this? Are you happy to see continued support for the game? Let us know in the comments!
