It’s a new year (and decade!), so we look back at the past year’s KOEI Tecmo game releases, and pick out our favourites! Vote in our poll below and share what your favourite KOEI Tecmo game of 2019 was! (Keep in mind this is for Western launched games only)
It has been such a long time since KOEI Tecmo and Kou Shibusawa launched the famed ‘Romance of the Three Kingdoms’ grand-strategy series. This year marks the 35th anniversary and KOEI Tecmo has been doing a lot of celebrations in it’s homeland of Japan.
Along with all these announcements, they briefly teased that yet a new title in the series is in development, and will be launching exclusively on iOS and Android. This marks in for a long while that Romance of the Three Kingdoms has been internally developed for mobile platforms (with recent times being outsourced to third parties).
More information will be revealed on the title in January 2020.
If mobile isn’t your cup of tea, don’t worry a full console / PC instalment with Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV is arriving February 28th 2020 in both Americas and Europe.
What are your thoughts on the Romance of the Three Kingdoms getting another mobile iteration? Have you been there since the beginning of the franchise? Let us know in those comments!
It was back in March 2019 that Japan got their first taste of the newest Winning Post game, arriving off the heels of numerous Winning Post 8 iterations. Now that cycle begins again with Winning Post 9 receiving a 2020 edition, and will be arriving just under 1 year from it’s initial release.
Winning Post 9 2020 will be launching in Japan on March 12th 2020, with still no news of any western localisation. It is no surprise as horse racing simulation games are extremely popular in Japan, while far lesser in comparison in the western territories.
You can check out a list of what to expect in this 2020 update for the game:
–Revival of the marriage and descendant succession systems.
–Improvements to bond commands (can be executed from the racehorse screen, choose what you like from several utilities, etc.).
–No more randomness in the system of meeting new connections (you can make connections at events, and there are also bond commands that enable you to meet new connections).
–You can establish a club.
–Implementation of a future scenario that starts in 2021.
–Ability to transfer save data from Winning Post 9.
–If you have save data from Winning Post 8 on your system, you can get special bonuses.
–Noel Himeka added as a secretary.
If you are unable to wait and have an itchy trigger finger, pre-orders for the title have gone live today!
Winning Post 9 2020 will be arriving on Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
