FEATURE: Koei Tecmo Europe at Gamescom 2014

At the last weekend the biggest game convention opened its doors for everyone loving videogames. After many years, Koei Tecmo Europe also was there to present their latest upcoming titles, Hyrule Warriors, Samurai Warriors 4 and Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate. I was personally there to provide you with some informations.

The first visit was at the Deepsilver Booth where Koei presented Samurai Warriors 4 and Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate. They provided 4 small boothes where you were able to play either a demo Samurai Warriors 4 or a demo of Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate. Both demos had a running time of 10 minutes. If you were under the first 50 of the ones playing the demo you got one of the japanese exclusive chibi figures of the Samurai Warriors characters. All who tested the games got a Fan and a Flyer with advertisement to both games and a link to the survey going on (www.koeitecmoeurope.com/gamescom) where you are able to win a copy of DW8 XL CE on Steam. (good luck to all of you trying. 🙂 )

Koei’s next game Hyrule Warriors was right across at the Nintendo Booth. It was rather popular so I didn’t really have the chance to play it. I would have to wait something like over 3 hours and had a very tight time schedule so sorry for that. It had it’s playing booths behind the Nintendo Stage and was open for everyone to see. It was hard to see due to the waiting row.

Sad to say that the waiting time of Samurai Warriors 4 and Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate wasn’t even near this long.

Last thing to say is that Koei also had a booth girl cosplaying as Oichi on Friday and as Okuni on Saturday. Pictures will be posted soon.

There are still a lot of games coming from KOEI-Tecmo from now till the end of 2014. A lot to look forward to and a lot of reasons to curse our wallets! We can’t wait to see all of these titles release and get our hands on them!

NEWS: KOEI Warriors: Conquerors going to Gamescom 2014!

That’s right! We’ll be at this years Gamescom, where hopefully we’ll be able to share coverage of all the KOEI-Tecmo games on offer, as well as pictures of the events and impressions of the demos!

NEWS: Samurai Warriors: Chronicles 3 – New Additions

We have a bevy of new information for you today in regards to the upcoming release of Samurai Warriors: Chronicles 3! Along with the screenshots we uploaded just moments ago, new features have been confirmed along with a lot more!

~The entire Story revolves around What-If scenarios, such as what if Takeda Shingen succeeded at Joraku, or if Imagawa Yoshimoto succeeded at Okehazamanotatakai? The story unfolds with these events happening.
~Also depending on your relationship with officers and rulers, these What-If scenarios will change (for better or worse).
~The switching of characters feature from the original Chronicles game makes a return, with battles being crucial for you to switch between numerous officers on the battlefield.
~It is possible to stun enemy officers that are of a lower level than you a lot easier. Quite like the three officer types in Dynasty Warriors 8, lower grade officers can be defeated easier and stunned much more easily.
~”Renbukan Mode” makes a return (first features in Chronicle 2nd), which is quite like a “horde” mode where you face off against wave after wave of soldiers. The faster you defeat each wave the higher your score reaches.
~Godspeed Actions and Secret Musou attacks will be making their way from Samurai Warriors 4.
~A new “Warfare Skills” addition has been made, where you can consume a certain amount of your “Skills Gauge” to perform special actions around the battlefield.

We’ll be sure to report more information as it appears. This is certainly looking like one hell of a portable exclusive title, and we really do hope it see’s a Western release, only if because the first Chronicles game was very over-looked and an extremely fun game on the 3DS.

NEWS: Samurai Warriors: Chronicles 3 revealed for 3DS and PS Vita

In the Famitsu leak earlier this week it was revealed that Sengoku Musou Chronicle 3 (Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3) was in development by KOEI-Tecmo for both the Nintendo 3DS and Playstation Vita.

Officially announced now through Famitsu, Samurai Warriors: Chronicles 3 will be making it’s mark on both handhelds later in 2014. The game offers numerous features, such as new “Hyper Attacks” and “Rage Attacks” that were introduced in Samurai Warriors 4.

They have also said it will offer over 50 warlords (with a vague hint of at least one new character) from Samurai Warriors 4 and no doubt be using it’s gameplay engine.

Other features include increased Edit Slots for your customisable characters. There has also been a reveal on the take on the story, which is a fictional twist on it’s usual history focused take. Where you will be fighting in battles with a “what if” spin on it all.

New modes and actions have also been boasted to be included, but no elaboration on that yet.
