Warriors Orochi 4 levels up to Version 1.04 in this new patch!

It isn’t a new concept for KOEI Tecmo to put in a lot of post-release support for their titles nowadays, with fixes, corrections and sometimes even new content. This of course is no different for Warriors Orochi 4 which now hits Version 1.04 (on PS4, varying version number on other platforms), and with it brings a couple new things and some fixes.

You can see what the newest patch adds below:

Version 1.04

-Added a feature that allows players to sort the officer list by force.
-Players can now change their team and weapons during online co-op.
-Corrected issues related to online play.
-Corrected issues concerning the actions and animations of some characters.
-Corrected several other issues.

However what may be more interesting is that Warriors Orochi 4 has had prior patches sent out that hit before release, which you can find below:

Version 1.03

-Added a feature that enables players to change the BGM from the pre-battle loading screen.
-Added a feature in which, when forming a party, spoken lines are displayed as text.
-Added a feature to Battle Arena mode that enables players to elicit signals by using the directional buttons.
-Corrected issues concerning the actions and animation of some characters.
-Corrected several other issues.

Version 1.02

-Improved stability of online play.
-Corrected a number of other issues.

Version 1.01

-Improved the stability of online play.
-Added a mock battle function to the Battle Arena mode.
-Corrected issues concerning the actions and rendering of some characters.
-Corrected issues concerning the behaviour of the cursor during some portions of the interface.
-Corrected a number of other issues.

It looks like Warriors Orochi 4 is coming a long way, and hopefully this won’t be the last we see of more additions and general improvements to the game.

Warriors Orochi 4 is out now worldwide for Playstation 4, XBOX One, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is getting a Free to Play version for PS4 this month in Japan!

This week the latest issue of Monthly Shonen Gangan has revealed that Team Ninja’s Dissidia Final Fantasy NT for Playstation 4 will be getting a Free to Play edition released. Currently only planned for Japan, it is to launch on November 22nd, where you’ll get the base game for free (minus story mode) and can purchase additional content including characters through in-game transactions.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT Free-to-Play overview

–The characters that can be used in the free-to-play will switch out at fixed intervals.
–This is a free-to-play title that specializes in battles. Story Mode is not playable, and the specifications of some game modes are also different from the full version.
–The free-to-play version can battle with other users of the free-to-play version, as well as users of the full version.
–Save data from the free-to-play version can be carried over to the full version.
–Some data from the arcade version can be carried over to the free-to-play version. (Only usable for content with lifted restrictions.)

There is no word if this will be making it’s way to the West, but that of course is up to Square-Enix, but it is quite likely. Also along this news a special announcement for a 9 hour (you read that right) 3rd Anniversary broadcast for Dissidia Final Fantasy NT will be happening on November 10th, being hosted on both YouTube and NicoNico. They will go live 12PM JST (3AM GMT / Nov 9 10PM EST), and will feature a tournament along with other news and announcements (likely a reveal of the upcoming next DLC character). You’ll be able to watch it here via YouTube, though be warned it is a Japanese hosted event.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is available now worldwide exclusively for the PS4.

Mighty Bomb Jack comes to NES Nintendo Switch Online service this November!

Nintendo have announced that their November game selection update coming to Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Switch Online will finally be arriving. November 14th to be exact, where you’ll get access to a Tecmo classic; Mighty Bomb Jack (alongside TwinBee and Metroid).

Mighty Bomb Jack is a 2D side-scrolling platformer where you play the titular Jack, who must make his way through 16 dastardly levels within a pyramid in order to defeat the almightly demon Belzebut. With the game you’ll also get the quality of life inclusions such as the Pixel Perfect graphic mode and suspend points if you want to take a break.

Last month we saw the release of Tecmo’s Solomon’s Key, and in December we are set to receive Tecmo’s original Ninja Gaiden. Nintendo Switch Online requires you to be subscribed to the service to access these games, though there is a 7 free day trial for those who want to try it out.

Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists gets a cool Limited Edition!

It isn’t the first (nor last) time KOEI Tecmo have partnered with NIS America/Europe to produce a Limited Edition for their product, and it is nice to see that Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists is no different. Up for pre-order now exclusively on the NISA Europe store page, you can get in on this lovely set of collectables alongside the core game itself for either PS4 or Nintendo Switch.

Though an actual release date is yet to be set for Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists, we know it is intended for sometime during Q1 2019. With the Limited Edition you can get your hands on the following:

-1 Cloth Poster featuring the titular Nelke.
-1 Nelke Acrylic Stand.

So there is quite a set of goodies to be had. Unfortunately the set isn’t available to PC customers, though this is likely due to the nature of how Steam and digital based production is handled.

Dynasty Warriors 9 Trial delayed until later in the month for PS4 and XB1

KOEI Tecmo today have announced that Dynasty Warriors 9 Trial edition – that was scheduled to release today for PS4 – has now been delayed until November 14th. With this news we also have an official launch date for the XB1 version, which will be November 21st that’ll function on both XBOX One and XBOX One X.

KOEI TECMO Europe is excited that DYNASTY WARRIORS 9 Trial, a new version of the popular franchise, is set for a European release on the 14th November 2018 for the PlayStation®4 Computer Entertainment System, 21st November 2018 for the Xbox One family of devices including the Xbox One X, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, and available now digitally on PC via Steam®.

DYNASTY WARRIORS 9 Trial enables fans to choose up to three characters from the roster of 90 total playable characters in a small sampling of DYNASTY WARRIORS 9’s story mode as they set off to explore the open-world of China; with the fate of the Han Dynasty hanging in the balance. Online co-op will also be available for gamers to test out alongside other Trial members, or players who already own the full game; allowing them to experience the exhilarating the exhilarating action of this historic adventure.

As mentioned in the details, the Steam version of the Trial is available now for you to try out and play for yourself. All of this is free of charge, and also allows you to play with friends who own the game in the recently enabled 2 Player Co-op.
