Yesterday Nintendo finally broadcast their Nintendo Direct, which was previously postponed from last week due to a violent earthquake in Hokkaido Japan. During the Direct we got more information and news on the Nintendo Switch Online service starting 18th September.
With this service, you will be able to play an assortment of NES games, both offline and online. With this service Nintendo has partnered with KOEI Tecmo to offer some of their retro games. On Launch day, you will be able to play Tecmo Bowl, in October you’ll be able to also play Solomon’s Key, November you’ll be able to play Mighty Bomb Jack and December you’ll be able to also play Ninja Gaiden.
We have no further information on if any more of KOEI Tecmo’s NES games will hit the service, or if Nintendo offer more than just NES games if any of them will be part of KOEI Tecmo’s back catalogue, but it is great to see these current retro gems being up for all those that subscribe to the service, with new online features to boot!
Nintendo Switch Online will start from September 18th worldwide and will cost £17.99/$19.99/€19.99 for a yearly subscription.
