It’s getting to that time of the year again, now with all of KOEI Tecmo’s games for the year making their way into eager fans hands, it is now time to decide which one is your KOEI Tecmo Game of the Year 2016! Please put in your vote to the poll and we will announce the Fan favourite Game of the Year after New Years!
(Please note these are games that were officially released into the western market, so no DOA Extreme 3 guys!)
This week’s Famitsu has Information on an Attack on Titan Visual Novel game which is currently in Development at Koei Tecmo’s Branch Ruby Party. Currently 30% completed.
Ruby Party is known for their Visual Novels and Otome Games in Japan, such as Geten no Hana. You can expect this game to target both male and female audience and might make you able to get a bit closer to your fave character.
The Information was some gameplay elements and confirmed characters that appear.
As seen in the picture, confirmed appearing characters are: Eren, Mikasa, Armin, Jean, Sasha, Connie, Krista, Ymir, Reiner, Bertholt, Levi, Erwin and Hange.
The Protagonist of this game is a character you create. Depending on which gender you choose, you get different partners. If you choose a male characters, you get Mikasa, if you choose a female characters, you get Levi.
The Story takes place before meeting the female Titan and is about investigating an old castle. (Maybe the old castle from the actual story, I don’t know)
In the game you get Co-op Quests. Choosing the right choices will grant you Recognition and strengthens your bond with the character you’re teaming up with. Building bonds with the characters will grant you ‘heart-throbbing’ events if the bond is deep enough.
In the enviroment you get to check on stuff to get items and hints but checking unnecessary stuff might let you get spotted by Titans so be careful.
If you screw up in your decisions, you’re Game Over will be that you’ll be eaten by Titans. What a fitting death.
Furthermore, Krista and Ymir and Reiner and Bertholt are always paired up so joining them will make you a 3-people group.
Lastly, the game doesn’t have a release date, yet and also no confirmation of a western release. Seeing that it’s Ruby Party developing the game, it is hard to say if it will ever get a western release as we didn’t get much or any of Ruby Party’s games in the west, yet, though it would be a good start.

This weeks issue of the Famitsu had new information for Musou Stars, mostly regarding the story.
First off, the setting of Musou Stars is brighter than the one of Orochi. The world seem friendlier at least.
The maps are more based on the different series involved in this title instead of a mash-up, like Warriors Orochi.
Furthermore there were pictures showing that Yukimura and Zhao Yun get some rather badass skills. While Yukimura seems to have a fire skill, it looks like Zhao Yun has some wind/ice/water skill.
Now to the story. The synopsis is as follows: A prosperous world is withering because the King who control miracle fountain suddenly died. The Queen told the Princess that they’ll need to summon other world heroes to restore the world. Due to some malfunction, the heroes are summoned at various places in this world.
The throne has 3 heirs, including the princess, which is why the heroes of the other worlds are divided into 3 factions.

On the Website of Koei Tecmo Europe appeared a Post with the Line-up of the Tokio Game Show and with it stating that the games in the List will reach the west in 2017.
Berserk (working title)
Omega Forces interactive entertainment adaptation of one of the most brutal and unrelenting anime and manga titles will be available to visitors for a hands-on demo for the first time! Slated for release on the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system, and digitally for the PlayStation®Vita handheld entertainment system and Windows PC via Steam, the game will closely follow the events of the most well-known story arcs from the iconic mangas narrative, focusing on the daring and heroic life of Guts as he cuts his way through a sinister realm of magical and demonic fiends.
Berserk (working title) fuses the signature ‘one versus thousands’ style action of the long-running Warriors franchise with the grim and gruesome atmosphere of the world of Berserk. As players harness the power of Guts Great Sword and utilise the swift and agile swordplay of Griffith to slash and smash through hordes of enemies, players familiar with the Warriors series will be able to feel the difference in gameplay through the way each character handles combat. The game will also incorporate various battle mechanics to better bring the world of Berserk to life, such as Magic and Transformations.
Nioh
Coming strong from a successful second Beta demo, Team Ninja’s dark fantasy, Action RPG title will be available for hands on at the Koei Tecmo booth, featuring new content, including a brand new stage, set to challenge even the most adept players!
Blending a compelling narrative loosely based on the tale of the first western samurai, William Adams, with a myriad of strange supernatural creatures from Japanese folklore (Yokai), players of Nioh will discover a diverse and comprehensive world dripping with history and lore, and face off against other samurai in epic sword battles. Nioh is guaranteed to challenge players in a way that makes every mission feel earned and their accomplishments worthwhile.
Nioh is in development exclusively for the PS4 system.
Toukiden 2
Koei Tecmo is pleased to announce the return of the popular demon hunting RPG title ‘Toukiden’, with the western release of its second instalment in early 2017. Taking Oni-hunting to a brand new level, Toukiden 2 introduces an open-world environment filled with strange life forms, empty ruins, unexplored caves, and fearsome Oni.
Players will be called to take the mantle of a Slayer, charged with the task of defending humanitys last remaining villages from the supernatural threat of Oni. Taking all types of shapes and sizes, these demons creep out of dark rifts in space and time and prey on mankind. Warriors from the ancient secret cast of the Slayers are the only ones equipped to stop them! Platforms, release date and further information on the western release of this title will be available in the following weeks.
Atelier Firis: The Alchemist and the Mysterious Journey
Gust continues its trademark ‘Atelier’ series with the follow-up to Atelier Sophie: the Alchemist and the Mysterious Book. The second part of the Mysterious trilogy, Atelier Firis, follows the journey of a young alchemist through an exciting and colourful world. While Firis travels, she learns more about synthesis and alchemy, meets interesting people, and amplifies the feeling of exploration with the immense expansion of the world map!
Atelier Firis: the Alchemist and the Mysterious Journey will be playable during Tokyo Games Show on PlayStation 4.
Nights of Azure 2 (working title)
Following the success of the of ‘Nights of Azure’, which marked a darker direction for GUST, producer Keisuke Kikuchi returns to the demon-plagued world where players will follow the story of a young girl knight born from the blood of Arnice, the main character of ‘Nights of Azure’.
Nights of Azure 2 (working title) maintains the same JRPG gameplay elements adored by dedicated fans of the studio and expands this new franchises horizons with a riveting new storyline! This title will be on display in the Koei Tecmo booth at TGS.
Samurai Warriors: Sanada Maru (working title)
Omega Force is proud to announce the upcoming western release of a one-versus-thousand tactical action title focused on one of Samurai Warriors’ favourite characters: Yukimura Sanada. In this character driven epic, players will get a unique look into the Sanada clans inner workings before and during the 16th century conflict that drove two brothers to join opposite sides of a grand scale civil war.
This yet-to-be-named title will be released in the west in 2017 and is available for hands-on testing during Tokyo Games Show on PlayStation 4.

This weeks issue of the Famitsu had new Toukiden 2 information. The information has a new character, returning characters and 2 new Onis. Furthermore there are information about some game mechanics.
The new character introduced is Kazue. Kazue is the father of Tsubaki and works at the Slayer Office. He is the mission receptionist in the Slayer Office.
The returning characters are Sōma, Hatsuho and Kuyou.
Sōma still is the 3rd Leader of the Hundred Demon Unit. He accompanies Kuyou as he visits Mahoroba. Hatsuho joins Sōma and Kuyou to broaden her observation of this world
Furthermore Sōma and Hatsuho can join your group.
In the introduction battle of Yokohama, Kuyou assists in sending his elites to help the Slayers fight off the Oni.
Kuyou: “As Strategist-accompanying Military Officers, these two Slayers have been always with me.”
Aside from the characters, two new Oni were introduced. Their names are Ushiwokina and Mukuromaneki.
Ushiwokina is a large Oni based on a catfish, who can dig itself underground by using his big tusks.
Mukuromaneki is a medium-sized Oni based on a crab.
Lastly they improved the Joint Operation feature. If you are successful, the ally NPC that joined will stay for a little while.
Also: It is implied that, if you have equipment that you don’t need, you can put it into a field box and send it online to other player.
