It was a pretty big year for KOEI Tecmo in 2017, with them pioneering a new form of Virtual Reality technology with their patented VR Sense. However we never really covered it (other than in passing mention that you’ll be able to smell girls sweating in Dead or Alive Xtreme 3.. we don’t get it either). But recently KOEI Tecmo has been bringing out some big guns, with mid way through 2017 bringing the VR use into Dynasty Warriors 8 under the monika Ultra Dynasty Warriors, they have now gotten a fair few exclusives designed specifically for the VR Sense experience.
But what is VR Sense many of you might be wondering? It isn’t something many of us Westerners would be aware of, or even have had the chance to experience. In short it originally was a cabinet where you would stick on a VR set along with a few other peripherals, and it would enable you to feel and smell alongside the usual offerings of VR. It is primarily compatible with the Playstation VR set up and Playstation Move controllers along with it’s own peripherals to enable the “Sense” of smell and feeling.
Now onto the good stuff, the games! Currently KOEI Tecmo boasts six games for the device, being the aforementioned Ultra Dynasty Warriors and Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Sense. Alongside those are Daruma Fell Horror Sense, G1 Jockey Sense, Super Sengoku Coaster and 3 Majesty × XIP DREAM ☆ LIVE. All allowing you to experience many different wonders as if you were actually in the games themselves.
Below you can see four different showcases of four of the games VR Sense offers. Daruma Fell Horror Sense, Dead or Alive Xtreme Sense, G1 Jockey Sense and Super Sengoku Coaster in their respective order.
What are your thoughts on VR Sense? Would you like to see it make it’s way over into the West? Are you interested to see more content based on the device from us? Let us know in those comments!
