KOEI Tecmo outlines it’s Tokyo Game Show 2020 Digital Event schedule!

It’s the start of September, and that means it’s the month for Tokyo Game Show! Though due to the ongoing pandemic with Covid-19, it has now become a Digital Event for this year – which will be airing from September 23rd – 27th. That won’t stop many Japanese publishers getting involved, and now KOEI Tecmo has shared their schedule for the event.

KOEI Tecmo are to appear during the 26th and 27th of September, and you can read their plans below:

September 26th – 21:00-21:50(UTC+9)
Atelier Ryza 2 – Showing off new gameplay for the title.

September 26th – 22:00-22:50(UTC+9)
Unannounced project reveal.

September 27th – 15:00-15:50(UTC+9)
Dynasty Warriors 20th Anniversary Program – Two unannounced Dynasty Warriors title reveals along with a new Anniversary video.

Assortment of titles to be shown throughout the 26th on KOEI Tecmo Japan’s channel. More than 10 titles to introduce.

It definitely looks like it will be an interesting livestream to check out. Two new Dynasty Warriors titles and an unannounced project reveal. It makes a change with how little news we have had on new game releases this year.

We will be sure to report on all of the announcements from the event.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV to launch on Nintendo Switch for the first time!

It was just announced that Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV ‘Diplomacy & Strategy Expansion Pack’ will be launching this Winter worldwide. What is an even more interesting bit of news alongside that is that it will be launching for the Nintendo Switch as well as the PS4 and PC (via Steam) versions.

The Nintendo Switch version of the game was originally only released in Japan back when it launched at the start of this year. We now will be able to take all the marvellous strategy on the go! No news yet one what exclusive features (if any) the Nintendo Switch edition will have, but it’s good to know you’ll be able to play this beauty of a game in a variety of different ways.

The game will be launching on Nintendo Switch along with the Expansion Pack the same time as the PS4 and PC version this Winter.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV ‘Diplomacy & Strategy Expansion Pack’ to launch this Winter!

It has been just over 6 months now since Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV launched on PS4 and PC via Steam, with it’s Season Pass finally finished releasing it’s content. Now the major expansion for the title is on it’s way. Often known as the ‘Power-Up Kit’ in Japan, it is titled Diplomacy & Strategy Expansion Pack over here in the west.

You’ll be able to purchase the bundle as it’s own set via the PSN / Steam storefronts, as well as picking up the physical copy that includes the base game as well.

Prices and release dates are still up in the air, but we do know it is launching this Winter worldwide, likely Japan first and soon after in the West!

The Diplomacy and Strategy Expansion Pack is loaded with new possibilities, including trade with great Eurasian empires — including Rome and India — allowing for even broader strategies to unfold on a path to unify China. But that’s not all, as the expansion pack also introduces cities of foreign forces onto the map. Apart from conflicts in the central area, armies will now need to deal with intensified border clashes, upping the stakes in every skirmish.

In addition, new geographical advantages will be assigned to each province, so the strategies gamers will be able to choose from will vary dramatically depending on which provinces are conquered. For example: Conquering Qing Province expands the area you conquer, while conquering Yo Province allows you to open up trade with the nomadic tribe of the region, making the order of which province you conquer first now vitally important.

New officer characteristics and special tactics have also been added, along with new buildings for specific topography, a calendar that enables you to reflect on previous activities in the game, and an all-new campaign entitled “War Chronicles Mode”.

Dynasty Warriors Domination mobile game launching in China soon!

It seems that KOEI Tecmo has been doing a lot of license deals lately with their Dynasty Warriors franchise, with numerous mobile titles including Dynasty Warriors 9 mobile coming from Nexon sometime this year.

Now yet another Dynasty Warriors title has been announced and shown off for mobile devices. Dynasty Warriors Domination, based on Dynasty Warriors 7 will be bringing co-op and pvp gameplay to Chinese mobiles in the near future. Developed by CMGE and published by Tencent, the game will boast fast and hectic hack n slash mayhem typical of the Dynasty Warriors games.

No news if this will be launching outside of China, but as Tencent has been making strides in the West of late, it is likely to happen eventually.

Atelier Ryza 2 releases this December in Japan, western release speculated!

Atelier Ryza 2 ~Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy~ was announced back in July, with it being the first ever follow-on with the same main character. It was set to release this Winter across the world. Now KOEI Tecmo Japan and Gust have announced that the title will be launching December 3rd 2020 in Japan for PS4 and Nintendo Switch. The PC release however will be launching sometime in January 2021.

With that last tidbit of information, it is safe to say that the Western launch for Atelier Ryza 2 will likely also be in January 2021 (as the PC version has often dictated the Western release of Gust games).

We will have more information about the game on our site soon! Atelier Ryza 2 ~Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy~ is set to release on Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
